Consultation on Potential Wildlife Intervention Options
as part of the Northern Ireland Bovine TB Strategy
The Department of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Development (DAERA) has published a Consultation on Potential Wildlife Intervention Options as part of the Northern Ireland Bovine TB Strategy.
The consultation invites views on three potential wildlife intervention approaches:
● Non-selective culling by shooting
● Selective culling by Test and Vaccinate or Remove (TVR)
● Badger vaccination-only
It
also seeks views on:
● Methods which could be used to capture badgers
● Options for intervention funding and
delivery
● Whether Northern Ireland should enable licensed lay vaccinators to vaccinate badgers
